Spring is finally here!

It took a long time to really believe spring was here to stay. We actually had snowfall on May 1st! It was on the ground but melted by the next day. About 2 inches I would say.

This was possibly the longest winter I have spent here in Utah since I moved here. 1992 I think was the year I moved here. Geez has it really been that long? I miss the Northwest still. Especially Portland Oregon. Ory-gun is how Oregon should be pronouced-in case you say it wrong. A lot of people pronounce it or-eh-gone-- that is like fingernails on a chalkboard to me!

Anyway the weather there is very different than we have here in Nothern Utah, and I get a little sick of the snow. This year even the native Utahans were sick of it! I had to laugh at that-Greatest Snow on Earth gets old even for the best of them!

Anyway it is a gorgeous place if you have never been, and the people there are wonderful.

It is time to get out in the garden. The weeds are ready to take over and I have no time to get to them right now. I can only imagine how huge they will be in 2 weeks after I go to Portland for Market!

We get monster weeds here in my little neighborhood. They get really huge and we get all kinds. Everything from your standard dandelion, to sagebrush rolling down the street. I will have to take a picture of the sagebrush so you all know I am telling the truth! It rolls down the street just like in the old westerns. I kid you not. It has brutal thorns on it too- not something to take lightly.

So I guess I better take some photos tomorrow of the sagebrush and giant dandelions.... Can't wait to show you!

Hi Kari,

Thanks for commenting today on our blog. I didn't know you worked at Material Girls. I'm so excited, my friends and I are headed down to Utah on Saturday for the big shop hop. Will you be working?? It would be so fun to meet you! What a great place to work. I read all about it in the Quilt Sampler! Thanks again!
