My website is LIVE!!!!! Yeehaw! CONTEST!!!!!

Live it is live and on the web! It has taken nearly a year and a huge learning curve for me to get my website published. I am a pattern designer---NOT and I say again NOT a web designer!

so go and check it out...........................let me know what you think!

In honor of this truly wonderful event, I am going tohold a contest. The winner will win one of my patterns of their choice and a Layer Cake pack by Moda. I have several to choose from right now and will let the winner pick! The key here is you have to go to the website and leave me a comment here to tell me what you think of my patterns, the website etc.
Try to be kind and easy on me though-since I am not a webmaster by any means and I did this all on my own with the help of Go Daddy and Website Tonight.

I will pick a winner on Saturday night September 6th at 10PM MST

That's the website. Go and tell your friends!
Good Luck!

Whew! I am in the home stretch now. I can relax just a little. The last two months I have been sewing and designing like crazy to get ready for Market in Houston. I have 6 new quilts that will be patterns very soon! Brand new designs in brand new pattern lines, oh it is fun---but a lot to keep up with too.

I am making one more quilt and pattern in Woodland Bloom by Lila Tueller for Moda. It is going to be from a Jelly Roll. It will be fun and pretty simple to make.

I am going to try and post some photos on here of my studio at it's current disaster level, as well as some sneak peeks of the quilts! So check back in the next couple of days!

Ahhh the unknown bumps in the road....

Ever feel like when it rains it really pours on you??? That is how I am feeling these last couple of weeks. So many unexpected expenses have come up in our house and it is so frustrating! The problem is, everything is so pricey right now, that money seems to slip through our bank account and vanish instantly!
First, the A/C broke down right before vacation. That was a very expensive bill ($800), but not one that could be avoided. Had to get two new tires for the car for our trip ($275), then our oldest needed glasses ($200), then we got back home. Great vacation but more was coming...
Then, the A/C was working so well now, it froze! ($215) to make it work right. Husband needed new glasses ($230), and apparently we need two new struts for the car as well. That one can be put off for a little while. All of this right before the kids go back to school! Oy!

Luckily, they are good on clothes, and school supplies were minimal. I will get a new outfit for both of them and they do need new shoes, but this is minimal in comparison to what the last three weeks has thrown our way!
Knock on wood, maybe this is the last of the big expenses for the year---well husband has a dr. visit on Friday-might be a gall bladder problem- hopefully that goes well-- Knocking on wood a lot this week over here!

All of this is just a bump along the highway of life, I realize this, it will pass. Truly we are blessed with jobs and a home we can pay for, and a happy healthy family, I am grateful. Thanks for letting me moan about the trials of money management!!!
