Spring is near!

It's been a little while since I have kept up on my progress with my new spring line of patterns.
They are fun, different and fabulous. Okay, well I think so anyway!

The one above is called "Refreshments". It is a table topper pattern and a tea cozy pattern. I also included a couple of recipes in this pattern. I think this one is one of my favorites right now. I love the little Yo-Yo flower details and I think Tumblers are just too much fun. These Tumblers are made from charm squares. EASY!

The one here on the right is called "Fancy Fans". This is my modern easy take on the Grandmother's Fan block of yesteryear. These fans are made from Tumblers as well, but they are sewn on by using raw edge applique'. So fast and easy to make. OF course if you want to hand applique' these blocks, that works just a well. I think the shabby chic look of the raw edge is very charming.

I have been using a lot of embellishments like Yo-Yo's, rick rack, Prairie Points, and buttons in my quilts lately. They really add a little something extra to each design. If you haven't tried using embellishments in your quilt projects, then I urge you to try. I think you would be surprised at how much it can change the look of a project.

I have them all on my website now, and they are ready to order. You can check them out at They are under the header of "What's New?!"

The new fabrics for spring are just wonderful and cheery this year. Like the ones I used in the "Sunny Patch Apron" pattern. This line is called Rise n' Shine by Glenna Hailey for Maywood Studios. Roosters, dots, stripes and all very retro, but darling!
If you get a chance check out Glenna's blog-she's a hoot!

Although, maybe I am just itching for spring to get here. Our December snow did just barely melt off last week.
Until next time....
