Hexagon Bliss!

I am in love with hexagon quilts and designs. I have not done any as yet, but boy I am ready to start! I have collected a couple of wonderful vintage hexagon pieces, one is a partial quilt top that I would love to finish circa 1930's, and the other is about 12 Grandmothers Flower Garden blocks in the traditional shape/style, also circa 1930's. Both are made with vintage feedsacks, which is why I keep telling myself that I am collecting these expensive beauties. (this picture is not my quilt top-it is just a beauty of a quilt that is in a museum!)

*If you want to see or buy some wonderful vintage feedsacks you can go here to Glenna Hailey's blog and she has links for her Etsy and Ebay stores where she sells them.

I just found this blog called Angie's Bits and Pieces
She has a tutorial on how to do English Paper Piecing with Hexagons with Freezer paper! I like anything that is economical and reusable.
She also has a pdf download so you can print the different sizes of hexes on your own feezer paper. Gotta love it! Thanks Angie!

So I am also now a member of the Great Hexagon Quilt Along 2. this wonderful group of quilters only talk about hexagon goodness and what to do with them!

I see an addiction problem forthcoming...... Have a wonderful day and check out the great sites!

Love you vintage quilt. I also love making hexagon quilts, but why not consider hand piecing with a running stitch instead of paper piecing...It's actually not that difficult and there's no fussing with all those little papers.

It's always nice to hear there is another English paper piecing fan out there! There is no doubt you will become addicted!! Treasure that vintage grandmother's flower garden quilt.

I have just found her tutorial and have done my first block.......I can see it becoming very addictive, as I can sew the hexagons, as I am watching tv on a night.
