I think we began a new family tradition this year....
Every year I go out and buy 12-18 eggs and the little dye kit for Easter eggs. Now don't get me wrong, I love decorating and dying Easter eggs; however, no one else in the house will eat a hard boiled egg but me.
---That's a lot of hard boiled eggs! For just me to eat that is. I have tried to pawn them off on unsuspecting grandparents claiming that the girls decorated this one or that just for them! Ha! They already know what I am up to!
So I found this great little (cheap) set of swabs with food dye in them, by Paas. There were five colors and that included the most important colors in the palette for little girls, purple and pink!
So they look like a cotton swab, filled with dye. You use the swap on the 'egg' like you would a paintbrush. Clever right? All for only 88 cents. I thought they would be fun on eggs-------but then yesterday I thought how much more fun it would be if we decorated sugar cookies with the little swabs. The girls (and my hubby) thought the eating of the deco
rated treats afterward was an especially good idea as well!So here are our little Picasso-esqe treats from this evening.
I made the sugar cookie dough this afternoon, and the girls cut out the butterflies, and the hearts. I cut out the crowns because they always break, and shaped the last of the dough into an egg shape because I didn't have an egg shaped cookie cutter.

The girls said Daddy had to decorate the egg since it is the most boyish of the cookies!
We had fun decorating and tasting!
Happy Easter to all and God Bless!
P.S. It's a good thing my hubby doesn't read my blog- he wouldn't appreciate that photo of him!!! Shhhhhh! Don't tell!
