The perfect cottage

Aren't these little cottages adorable? I think so too! Noelle in England makes them and sells them on Etsy- you can find them HERE. And she is having a giveaway, but since my timing with England is a bit off- I think it is almost time for her to announce the winner of one of these little lovelies. Maybe not though, here is her blog link-maybe we Americans can try and sneak in to the contest still. Good luck!

Grab a Jelly Roll and jump on board!

A Jelly Roll Sampler Quilt Along is coming our way!
And, you are invited to join the fun!
I will be a guest blogger for one of the blocks!
How fun is that?
Pretty fun.

Here are the details, go over to Konda's blog and check out the rules.
Or read them here:
From March 1 to August 2, every other Monday, instructions for a new 12" block will be posted. All of the blocks will be made from jelly roll strips and yardage.

Each block will be designed by a different person. Every two weeks there will be a guest blogger on my blog introducing herself and her block. At the end, you will have made a fun quilt 58" x 72."

Of course, all along the way there will be prizes for those who complete the blocks. Here is a picture of the quilt:
Here's the nitty gritty:

Fabric Requirements --
1 jelly roll
2 yards background and sashing fabric
1 1/2 yards outer border fabric
2/3 yard binding fabric
3 3/4 yards backing fabric

Grab a jelly roll and some background fabric and let's get started!

The first drawing will be on March 1 when I post the first block. To enter this drawing, comment on this post that you want to join us and what fabric line you are thinking about making it in.

P.S. Scrappy is absolutely fine too. This quilt would make a great stash buster project.

So go to Konda's blog and grab the button for your blog.
Oh! and don't forget to pick out a super cute Jelly Roll!

P.S. I'm not telling which week I will be doing the block- so you will just have to wait and see, and hopefully win my prize! I am going to make the quilt along with everyone else.

Until next time...

Ready for Spring!!! and a Schnibble....

I am ready for Spring to get here. I know it is only February 1st, but the snow has been here long enough! I can't wait to get out in the garden and dig up weeds (sounds crazy I know!) and plant flowers, and cut tulips to bring in the house.

On a bright note, it has been sunnier here lately which helps a lot. The gray smog filled air is getting very tired around here. So when it is sunny, even if it is cold and snow is on the ground- it makes me feel a little more bright and sunny too!

Above you will see my Schnibble, Madeleine. She is ready for quilting and for Spring. The little birds are just so cute and it is perfect for Easter. So despite all of the other things I need to be doing in the next month or so, this one will be ready for Easter.

And so I am off to get some more work done, but I just had to share! Until next time...
Go check out Sinta and Sherri's blogs tomorrow for the Schnibble Parade
