Book Giveaway!!! Still Going!!

I decided to extend my giveaway for a couple more days. I didn't get a chance to log in last night, and my dear cute Nadine from The Material Girls (where I used to work-it's a darling shop and you can shop online too. ) posted about my giveaway yesterday too- so it seemed a good idea!! So sign up you still have time!

Sign up through Cinco De Mayo 9PM MST

Everyone loves a giveaway right? Well, my new book is hot off the presses and I am giving away a copy of it to 2 lucky winners!

TidBits from Triangles is all about making Half Square Triangles the easiest way possible and making them accurate every time. I have written great instructions, lots of graphics, and 10 EASY patterns that are all fun to make. The patterns all use larger triangles and most can be made in an afternoon or two. It is so fun and I hope you all love it as much as I do!

Here is what I need from you:

Go to my photobucket page here and scroll through the different photos of the 10 projects in my book. Come back here and leave a comment telling me what your favorite projects are (telling me they are all your favorites won't work!). I need you to name names- the title of the project is the title of the picture. Tell me which ones you would like to make in the comments and you will be entered to win.

One chance to win per person, even steven.

If you would like to order a copy of my book, you can order it on my website, or on Etsy.
the retail price is $18.00 and shipping is $3.50. The books will ship Monday May3rd.

For the price of 2 patterns you get all 10 patterns, lots of yummy easy recipes like Lemon Chiffon Cake, my Aunt Maggie's Peanut Butter Cookies (these get raves every time I make them!), and loads of helpful quilting tips.

There is even a bonus at the end called "Little Bits" which tells you how to make a small version of five of the patterns in the book-- It's like getting 16 patterns for less than $20!!!!

Giveaway ends Sunday May 2nd at 9PM MST.

The Book is DONE! yippee!

Rainy days and Mondays- love this line and I love the name! I had to use some in my book!

The book will be ready soon. I am promised by April 30th at the latest. As soon as I have it in hand I will be sure to make it available. Where? Oh, do ask!
I am opening an Etsy shop very soon-- and will announce it asap. There will be some kits in it, my patterns of course, my new book, and some fat quarter bundles. I may make some of my cherished feedsacks available as well, but that is not decided for sure yet.

So yes there it is, my book is done and at the printer. Now it's their turn to work on things with it. They have to check colors, tweak the bleeds etc. Did you know a book can bleed? Actually only the ink on the pages gets to bleed off the page.

SO I am celebrating because this was a big job for just me to do. I do have helpers, but mostly it was me. The helpers do important stuff like catch my errors, and goofs, test the blocks and quilts. Stuff like that. I made all the quilts but one that you will see in the book. And I'm not telling which one I didn't make! Sandi might, but not me! She made the one quilt that got in the book, that I did not make.

TidBits from Triangles has 8 quilt patterns and 1 bag pattern-(completely out of this girls box) and 1 caddy pattern. it has a bonus too at the end-- called Little Bits

No, the caddy is NOT a pattern for a cute golf caddy- he stays at the pro shop. I won't tell you yet what the caddy is for--but I am sure you could guess. There are only so many caddy's (besides the cute one at the Pro shop) that someone may need or want.

So triangles you ask?? Yep, and I have made them easy and accurate even for beginners! Half Square Triangles really are fun and versatile and they get a bad rap for being too hard to make well.

In this book I used the following lines of fabrics (and many others as well)
Images are above.
Rainy Days and Mondays by Riley Blake Designs
Summer Song by Riley Blake Designs
Foxgloves by Phillip Jacobs
Sew-it Collection by Amy Barickman for Red Rooster
Frolic by Sandy Gervais for Moda
L'Amour by Sandy Gervais for Moda
Cherish by Deb Strain for Moda
Rawhide by Moda
Garden Party by Blackbird Designs for Moda

I also used some Kaffe fabrics, some batiks and I just had to put in something in 30's fabrics!

I hope you all love the book as much as I do (once you see it of course!)

I need suggestions, offering bribes etc

So I love the ideas and I am considering them all, there are a few I like in particular and got me thinking. So I will decide soon and let you all know!

I have agreed to do yet another quilt along online. I am sure of it now. I must be crazy. I barely have enough time to do everything for my family and my business let alone, sew for fun for me!

I am also doing the following BOM (block of the months) and quilt alongs:
Jelly Roll Sampler (I am designing a block I thought I should participate)
Snowbound by Bunny Hill (my guild is doing this one so I thought I would/should)
Quilt Etc BOM (local shop I teach at- I do this BOM every year)
Wild Rose BOM by Marti Michell (a local shop is doing this one- the link is for an online version- this quilt will go on my guest room bed eventually)
Sandy Stitchers Guild BOM (I have to create one at some point again- still debating the theme)
Dresden Plate for guild- (this has to be unique to me, an original design using at least 4 Dresden plates in the design and is due finished September 1st for a contest)
A year of Schnibbles - love the Schnibbles quilts and I own so many of the patterns already

Well hey, I just pulled off a great family sit- down dinner with my husbands clan yesterday, while trying to get this book done, do photography, editing, writing, sewing, cleaning the house which looked like a tornado hit, get the kids to softball practices/games, and everything else. I can handle one more thing right? OF COURSE I CAN!

So what should the theme of my next BOM be? (my first will be published and for sale in May)Any suggestions? Leave a comment with your thoughts and ideas and if I like your idea the most- I might just use it or some version of it. In which case you would have my undying loyalty, and I would send you a wonderful thank you gift! BTW- I am thinking of doing this as a FREE BOM to everyone in blog-land along with my guild, then it will get published at the end of the year.

Spring WAS HERE!

Hi all! Hope your April is looking better than mine! Today there is 6" of snow on the ground and more is falling as I write this.
"Spring WAS HERE"
should be written in the snow on my driveway!
It was, we saw it. All the signs of spring were here, and my tulips are 12" tall with buds ready to burst and covered in snow now. UGH! Depressing as it is, there is some good news to share!

I am wrapping up the finishing touches on a quilt book that I am writing. It will go to the printer sometime in the next 10 days! It is really fun to see it coming together and I can't wait to share it with you! So as soon as I can I will. Instead here is a sneak peek at some of the quilts from the book-not much to see yet is it? More will come soon. I am doing a lot of binding right now! The book will be ready for Market in May and I will be releasing it around May 1st-one month from today~!
My book is titled: "Tidbits from Triangles"
Yep it's all about Half Square Triangles-- and even the beginners out there will love it, because they are the reason I wrote it! I don't want any quilter, new or experienced, to feel intimidated by a quilt design with a lot of Half Square Triangles in it-- I break down the hard parts and make them easy for you. My book has some easy patterns in it, and some a little harder, but they are all fun to make.

Also, a new Schnibbles project for April and the Parade of March quilts has been posted on Sherri's blog for the Schnibbles quilt along.

Lastly, a new block for the Jelly Roll Sampler has been posted on moosequilts. This one was designed by Debbie Maddy who is a great designer and loves designing with half square triangles just like me.
