New Recipe Monday- Fat free Decadent Brownies

Doesn't seem possible to have wonderful decadent brownies that are fat free too?  It is possible.  Not too bad on calories and carbs either.  And they taste great.  My husband dislikes "fat fee" anything, but he loves these!

The key is fat free plain yogurt instead of oil. The cocoa powder is not a Hot Chocolate Mix-- it is unsweetened pure cocoa powder for baking and cooking.  They do get a little sticky on the top after the first day so I just dust some cocoa powder over the tops and then they are not as messy on your fingers-- unless you like licking your fingers in which case go for it!

1 cup sugar
3/4 cup whole wheat (or white) flour
1/2 cup Hersheys Cocoa Powder (found in the baking section usually above the chocolate chips)
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 Tablespoons Corn Starch
2 egg whites lightly whipped
2/3 cup fat free plain yogurt

optional- add 1/2 cup of chocolate chips-but this makes it a "low fat" brownie instead-just sayin'!

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.  Line a  9" square cake pan with a folded piece of foil.  This helps you lift the brownies out later.  Spray the pan and foil with non stick spray.
Mix the dry ingredients together, then add the wet ingredients and mix just until moist.  The batter will be lumpy.  Pour and spread into the pan.  Bake for 30 minutes.  The brownies come out chewy.  They are best the next day!  Lift the foil out of the pan and cut into 16 squares.

If you are on Weight Watchers these are 2 Points.

Enjoy!  See you Wednesday for WIP Wednesday!

Long time, no posts....and coming soon...

It's been almost a month since my last post.  Really only 3 weeks, but still too long.
I am sorry about that.  Been busy.  It's canning season, Market prep season and back to school all at once!

I have some fun things I will be starting soon.

Like "New Recipe Monday ", where I will post photos of something tasty that I tried making this week.  That way you can try it too. I think Monday is the perfect day for a new recipe because it's Monday after all and sometimes some yummy comfort food is what you need.

"Work in Progress Wednesday" will focus on some quilty things I am working on and trying to finish.  I have a lot of WIP's as do most quilters.  My goal is to get them done and off the design wall- or out of bags, stacks or wherever they got left before!

"Design Wall Friday" will focus on what's on the design wall in my studio.  Usually these are new designs that I will give you all a sneak peek of.

So check back Monday for a tasty recipe!

New Moda Bake Shop post

Organic Style-- My newest Moda Bake Shop project is up on the site.

I love it.  Simple, organic, stylish--thus the name, yet so easy to make.  My husband already fell asleep under it yesterday afternoon.  So it's cozy too!
