American Made Brand- Blog Tour

Clothworks Fabrics have developed a brand called American Made Brand.  It is a great line of solids that appeal to both the contemporary modernist quilters, and vintage reproduction quilters and any other quilt maker in between.  Going back to our American roots of textiles.  At one time America had more textile factories in production than any other country in the world.  The Industrial Revolution ca. 1760-1840 (pre Civil War) helped make that happen.  Post Civil War America also had  a huge industrial boom.  That is not to say that many other countries in the world didn't know how to do it right when it came to textiles. And they still do!  France, England, Belgium, Indonesia, Thailand, just to name a few.
America now has only a handful of factories that actually manufacture cloth now.  Most of  our fabric is outsourced and then imported.  As a fabric designer I learned quite a bit about that.

I love this idea of bringing textiles back home to America, even it is just a little.  I really love this new brand of solids and am participating in this Blog Hop as a participant. In other words no one is paying me or asking me to post about this.  I just wanted to!

Clothworks is based in Seattle (love that they are in the Northwest) If there was a brand of solids I would sell, I would choose these first to put in my webstore.  I may at some point.

So go check it out.  25 days of blog hopping, they will cover two states a day in the order they became a state. They are giving away some of this great fabric too, so Delaware is first!  Come and BlogHop with me--no gas required!  And you get to learn a bit about each state as you go!

Very sad to see this post! Unfortunately I have found this post too late. I'm daily searcher on quilting designs and different patterns, I love to join quilting shows and events. Hoping for the next time, see you soon. Thanks!

Thank you so much for picking my card as one your winners from the teddies challenge, it is such an honour.
Thank you for all your hard work in making the challenge so successful, it's a shame that the challenge is ending but I can totally understand your reasons and wish you all the best.
